FOOTBALL FITNESS TRAINING
The most common injuries received from football are as follows:
Achilles tendonitis - This is a painful condition of the tendon in the back of the ankle.
Ankle sprains - They are common injuries that football players experience.
ACL tear - The most commonly injured ligament in the knee, often seen in football players. This injury can sideline an athlete for months or longer.
Torn Cartilage - A cartilage tear in the knee occurs when the meniscus is injured.
Hip Pointer - The diagnosis of a hip pointer means that there is a bone bruise, or possibly a fracture of the pelvis; this injury is usually caused by a football tackle.
Burner or Stinger - The condition called a burner or stinger is common in contact sports, especially football. Burners and stingers are due to either stretch or compression of the brachial plexus. Burners cause pain shooting down the affected arm.
My training sessions will help to convert maximum strength into explosive power. Football specific elements of fitness are as follows:
Notice aerobic endurance doesn't appear in the list above?
While endurance IS important, long distance running to build an aerobic base can be detrimental to the football player. Football-specific interval training is much more beneficial. This is what I work on mainly together with strengthening the major muscle groups to avoid injuries.
Sessions are £35 with a minimum booking of 4
